ON-Q pain relief system

The ON-Q pain pump is a small, high-tech balloon that holds pain numbing medication that automatically soaks the surgical site.

Placed during surgery, the pain pump works immediately to provide pain relief right where you need it. There's nothing that you have to do.

For the next 3 to 5 days, the pump continues to infuse a slow and steady flow of numbing medication, right where it hurts. Because the pain pump provides targeted pain relief, you can feel better sooner, and get back to normal faster.

Pain medications such as Vicodin or Darvocet can make you drowsy or nauseous. Using the pain pump allows you to require less pain medication and avoids the side effects that come with them.

ON-Q is very portable and is small enough to fit discretely in a carrying case, which means you can stay mobile during your recovery.

At the Advanced Institute, we have seen a significant reduction in pain when using a pain pump. For several years now, we have included a pain pump in practically all our tummy tuck procedures at no additional charge.
