What is Kybella?
Kybella is a medication that, when injected into the double chin area, kills the fat cells there permanently.

How much does a Kybella procedure cost?
The cost of Kybella will depend on how much of the medication you will need and how many treatments you will need. Because Kybella is non-invasive, you will need more than one session. The best results are seen after the 2nd and 3rd treatment (and beyond, if desired).

How is a Kybella procedure performed?
First, the area to be treated will be marked. After that, the skin of the chin area will be prepped. The Kybella will be injected in micro-increments. After the treatment, a head wrap may be applied. You will be given aftercare instructions.
How is the recovery process?
You can expect swelling after the treatment. This can last a few days. We will give you instructions on how to best minimize swelling. The skin may be pink or bleed a little for a short amount of time.
What are the common risks & complications for Kybella procedures?
Swelling, bruising
This is expected and is temporary. After your first Kybella treatment, the swelling can last a number of days. With subsequent treatments, however, most of our patients have a lot less swelling.
Numbness
The under-chin area can remain numb for a while but should go back to normal with time.
Lack of desired effect
Just like anything in life, different people respond differently. Some people have a better response to Kybella than others. It may be necessary to have more treatment sessions than you originally planned. Kybella’s results may not be as dramatic an effect as liposuction of the chin so it’s important to have realistic expectations. People with extra skin of the neck will need neck lift surgery and will probably not be happy with Kybella alone.

Q: How long will my Kybella session take?
A: The session will be short and easy. You should be able to finish the treatment in 15-30 min.
Q: How long will the results of Kybella last?
A: The fat cells that are killed by the Kybella medication will be permanently gone. But, if you gain weight afterwards, the remaining fat cells will get bigger and your double chin can return.
We recommend that you “protect your investment” by maintaining a stable or decreased weight after surgery.
Q: Is Kybella painful?
A: Most of our patients do not find it painful. You may experience some burning sensation with the injections.
Q: Will I be able to go to work right after my Kybella?
A: It depends on the amount of swelling, but we usually recommend that you do your Kybella at the end of the work day and go straight home afterwards.
Q: How long will it take to see the results?
A: You will likely see the results between 4-8 weeks.
